September 13 and 14: Marisja van Weegberg

Sept. 13 and 14, Marisja van Weegberg exhibits drawings.

Between Line and Silence

Ink and introspection flow together in the work of Marisja van Weegberg (b. 1967). Using the crown pen as an extension of her gaze, she constantly returns to herself – not out of vanity, but out of necessity.

The self-portraits that emerge are raw, quiet, and sometimes incredulous.

Even the still lifes are self-portraits – masks or mirrors, depending on how you look.

In line and stain, in detail and emptiness, Marisja searches for what is true. And she invites the viewer to do the same.
