Nature Art Park! This will be the ^21st time that Kunstenaars Flevoland organizes the summer event in Natuurpark Lelystad. Every year the art tour is special, but this time it is extra festive because it is 50 years since the park was established. The artists have chosen a theme to reflect that: Rooted.

Flevoland is a young area with a relatively limited history, but in that short time we have all managed to put down roots here in our own way. That applies to people who were born in the area and also to people from other cultural backgrounds. Flevoland is home to many different people. As Flevoland, we should be very proud of that!

The artists sought out people with family ties in other parts of the world who developed roots here in Flevoland. Five of the eleven artworks are based on the lives of these Flevoland people. Their poetic portraits hang near the spatial works. Five artworks are autonomous artworks and one artwork was created by an artist in collaboration with volunteers from Natuurpark Lelystad. Together, this mix of spatial works promises a special walk.

On Sunday, July 13, at 2 p.m., the art route will be opened. After a short speech in the amphitheater, near the visitors’ center of Natuurpark Lelystad), the group will walk past the works together. Everyone is welcome to join. On four Sundays there are again free workshops. On July 27, 3, 10 and 17 August, always from 11:00 to 15:00. Drawing, spatial, writing … for children and adults.
