From August 8 to September 21, I am exhibiting with Nelleke Ponsteen, as members of Art Collective Breekijzer, on the top floor of the Koppelkerk in Bredevoort.

Nelleke draws with pencil, charcoal and pastel on paper, both in large and small format.She uses herself as a model for her drawings.
Ingrid makes spatial work and she makes prints of her body(parts) that she uses as autonomous work or in an installation.

The work of both artists teeters, it also rubs against each other in a language they both understand, the language of the body.
The body with its soft and rounded forms, caressable, soft and accessible. But also in its resilience with hands like fists and claws….
That body language that tells of an inner world, sometimes trapped and closed off, sometimes stretched or bent and looking for a way out.
A story about oppression and unfreedom. But also about strength and beauty that shows itself in the vulnerable presence of the body.
