Photography is the great passion of Wilma Wijnen.
After working in the insurance industry for 23 years, she thought it was time to do something new. In 2003 she set up her own travel agency and developed trips to Namibia, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania as a tour operator. In Africa, she became fascinated by the colors, the vistas, the flora and fauna. This is how her passion for photography was born.

Wilma is always focused on light. Everything that radiates light attracts her attention. Like in nature, the sun and moon, but also urban architecture, blast furnace complexes, oil refineries or ships in the evening light. The challenge for her is to play with the different shapes, colors and light. She tries to do something special with this. Her starting point is reality. While photographing and in post-processing she uses different photographic techniques. With these techniques Wilma creates a new reality, where color, shape and light coincide in a creation that is new to her and it matches the emotion she feels.

Wilma took the professional photography course at the Fotovakschool Apeldoorn, specializing in portrait photography. She then further developed in landscape, architectural and industrial photography through various master classes and workshops.
